Lockheed Martin Employees Give $41,000 To Nine Marietta-Area Non-Profit Agencies

MARIETTA, Ga., June 11, 2014 – Lockheed Martin’s [NYSE: LMT] AERO Club, an employee-run charity, delivered grants totaling $41,000 to Marietta-area agencies primarily serving children and families.  

“The Lockheed Martin AERO Club grants reflect the diverse interests of our employees and have an enduring impact on children and families supported through giving,” said Shan Cooper, general manager and vice president of Lockheed Martin’s Marietta facility and president of the Marietta LM AERO Club. “It is reassuring to know our donations are helping to improve families through job training, education and family services.  We are proud to support children with health needs in meaningful ways.”

Every year, the LM AERO Club raises funds for the community through an annual employee charity campaign. A board of Marietta employees evaluates the grant requests to determine the best opportunities to allocate the donations.

The grants released today support the following agencies and programs:

  • Arthritis Foundation of Georgia:  Juvenile Arthritis Educational programs/Camp
  • Camp Kudzu:  Summer Camp for Children with Type 1 Diabetes
  • Camp Sunshine:  Summer Camp for Children with Cancer
  • Child Development Association:  Pre-School Education for low-income children
  • Cobb Literacy Council:  ESL and Adult Education Program
  • Elite Liberty Basketball:  College Tour transportation
  • Goodwill of North Georgia:  Career Services Program
  • Latin American Association:  Family Services Program
  • Make-A-Wish Georgia:  Wishes for Cobb County Children
